Following our day in Payson, I went up to Show Low to spend some time with my Brother-in-Laws and see what I could find to photograph. Harold has a house up in the White Mountains and it is always a treat to go visit him. He is a great photo guide as he always knows the best places to go see beautiful scenery. (Jimmie Creekmur – Harold Stewart)
The Aspen were at their peak and we found a lot of good stuff right along the road.
We saw some really nice scenes by Hawley Lake in the Arizona White Mountains. The lake is surrounded by three National Forests it has some spectacular views.
A little history about Hawley Lake is at this link http://www.nytimes.com/1984/06/12/us/apaches-end-leases-and-a-resort-is-fading.html The residents had leases that expired and the Apaches’ would not renew them. The residents had to pack up and leave their homes behind. Here is what it looks like today.
There is lots of wildlife in the area and we saw some Geese and a Blue Heron. No bears today but maybe next time.
Looks like a good time and some BEAUTIFUL pics. Thanks for sharing
