I would have to say one of my favorite shots in Arizona is sunset. We always have to look out the window or check out the scene at the bewitching hour. A lot of people can’t believe the colors and unless you have been there, you would think there was a lot of photoshop going on. The truth is the colors are really there. The hard part is exposing for the foreground so it is not all blacked out. It all depends on what kind of look you are going for.
The above shot was done with 28 photos stitched together in Photoshop to give me a panorama of our wonderful skyline.
On this one shot where I was able to get the foreground, it was done in HDR. I took 6 shots of different exposures, brought it into Photoshop as an HDR photo and saved it back to Lightroom as a 32bit Tiff. This gave me enough information, so I could expose both the foreground and the sky. Shooting at F22, I was able to get the God beams.
These are shots that you get after the sun goes down.
