One of the highlights of our trip back to Ohio was the day we spent in Amish Country. It is beautiful countryside with lots of barns, horses (more than people), buggies, woodworking shops, cheese stores, antiques and great food. My friend Mal Johnson was kind enough to get up early so we could get some good light and take me around the various back roads. We got down there so early that none of the eating places were open although we lucked out and found a small restaurant that was open for the locals. Ham and Eggs and they were big eggs to start the day and it kept us nourished until lunch time when we met Louise, Bob and Carol. Roasted Chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy along with a fresh salad. We waddled out of there to go home for a well deserved nap while Louise and Carol stayed to see all the quilts shops. They were thrilled. It was a good day.

I have never forgotten the day I spent in Amish country the summer I came it visit you in Ohio!
Yes they are good memories.
Beautiful shots of peaceful countryside, not much left in NJ like that, all gobbled up with homes and business.
It is a beautiful countryside. It is also changing quite a bit since we were there last. Every farm now has a wood working shop, store or both. I guess they call it progress.
