A Day to Remember

One of the best things about photography is the ability to go back to a favorite place and time. Monument Valley is one of those places. I remember the feeling of awe when I was torn between where to point my camera as the beauty is breath taking. The sky was good that day with lots of clouds and interesting formations. The Mittens, those free-standing sandstone buttes which rise from the floor are what everyone remembers most.Using my wide angle lens I was able to capture a good sense of what  John Ford must have seen when he used this spot for many of his westerns, shooting in the area 9 times he made John Wayne famous. There is a 17 Mile drive through the valley that shows off  many scenic landscape views. It would be a good idea to have a truck or 4 wheel drive vehicle as the road is quite rough. You can pay an Indian guide for a tour in one of their flat bed trucks equipped with seats. They will even take you off the beaten path.

Playing around with my site, I was able to give you a bigger view of my photos. I hope you enjoy the new look.
