Now that summer is slowly cooking us here in Phoenix with temps well over 100˚ I try and get out of town as much as I can. Taking trips into Flagstaff, going up on the rim and any place with some altitude to get some of that cooler air and looking for some beautiful light. It is a good excuse to look for that wonderful photograph that makes my heart race a little and the feeling I get that I can’t wait to show this to my friends.
I discovered Hart Prairie Road last week and it is a treasure trove of good shots. There is everything from Aspen, Mountain Views, Flowers and Cattle Pens.
Here are a few shots from the Tonto Basin on Route 88. The red colors of the sun hitting the mountains at sunset always make your heart beat a little quicker.
