“Well it’s bulls and blood
It’s dust and mud
It’s the roar of a Sunday crowd
It’s the white in his knuckles
The gold in his buckle
He’ll win the next go ’round
It’s boots and chaps
It’s cowboy hats
It’s spurs and latigo
It’s the ropes and the reins
And the joy and the pain
And they call the thing rodeo”
Garth Brooks Rodeo
After spending a day at the Orme Dam Rodeo, I think Garth’s Lyrics sums it up. This was my first Rodeo and I had a blast. The Indians were very friendly and I had access to wherever I wanted to go. Equipped with my 70-200 and 150-500 lens, Mono Pod and Gimbal Head I was ready. The action was pretty constant and these cowboys would get knocked around pretty good. I shot the Bareback, Saddle Bronc, Tie Down Roping, Barrel Racers and Bull Ride. Lots of White Hats, Expressions and Talent to capture. I’ll definitely be going again.
