In a recent trip to California to visit my sister I was able to capture some shots of Brown Pelicans at Dana Point Marina. For all us midlanders this is a real treat although it is as common as cows to the coastal people.

We always enjoy watching the pelicans when we go to the beach in North Carolina. I hope you got to see them do some plunge diving for their dinner. Its an awesome thing to watch.You got some great pictures.
You captured the pelican’s ability to give you an attitude! It is the “Aren’t I gorgeous?” attitude. I love the way that the bird’s eye always seems to be looking right at you.
