Pleasure and Joy

I’ve been spending the day working on my photos from my recent trips out in the desert and was thinking about the difference between pleasure and joy. Pleasure is having a steak just the way you like it or getting some new toys such as my Fuji XE-2. Joy is seeing a beautiful scene dabled in sunlight or watching my grandkids light up the room with their spontanity. I am always looking for the joy of my life and appreciating the little things like listening to Fleetwood Mac while watching my photos come to life with a little movement of a slider here and there. So as you browse these images, find the things that bring you joy and be grateful for the moment.

As you can see this is a new look for my web site. For better viewing of the photos click on the 1st image and then use your arrow keys to move to the next image.

For me……not so much “joy” here but the gift of the Holy Spirit “AWE!”

    John,

I think your photography has leaped recently. I doubt it is your new camera. I suspect a new lease on life and a renewed vitality play into at least some of it. I am very much enjoying your shares.

Thanks Carol, It does help to have a new lease on life. I figure my heart will last another 20 years. We need to set up a day to go out and shoot.
