I started taking pictures with the idea of documenting where I’ve been and the beauty that surrounds me. Because a photo is only a brief second in time it has to be the best second in time. The challenge is to get the right exposure and create the right emotional response of what I see and what I feel at the time. Being a Generalist because I take pictures of pretty much anything that I can get in front of my camera. I try and capture all the things that happen in my world.
I started this whole photography thing by taking photos of my kids so I could have my memories in a box somewhere. I sometimes get that box out and relive my past. But now that we are in the digital age, everything has gone from a box in the closet to a hard drive on the desk, and one in the other room, and one at the house down the street. I wonder what will eventually happen to all these memories. The box of photos in the closet will probably get passed around to my kids and grandkids so they can look at them once in a while. The hard drive might get put in a closet like my box of photos, to be looked at if they can find a gizmo that will be able to read them. Remember the 8 track tape recorder or the CD or the DVD. The rest might last the test of time because of this blog. As they say if you put something on Facebook or on the internet it will never go away. So maybe that is why I will post more and more of my photos and stories here.
So my memories of today are 5 of my grandkids and parents that were able to visit this past month. They are use to having their picture taken and have been kind enough to pose for me. I hope you enjoy them as much as Louise and I do.
Have a Blessed Holy Week.
