Up at 5:45, on the road at 6:15 and shooting at 7. My son Scott and I got an early start at the Riparian Preserve in Gilbert with my friend Fr. Steve. We had some pretty good light and lots of subjects. We started looking for an Osprey that likes to get his early breakfast diving for fish in the big pond. He didn’t show up so we moved to one of the western ponds and found a good spot. Lots of fishing going on with the Snowy Egrets and American White Pelicans taking center stage. The Pelicans would get their own food but would also prey on smaller birds if they couldn’t get their catch down their throats fast enough. It was pretty cool this morning with all of us wearing winter coats, gloves and even using hand warmers. We’re not that big of wimps as it was around freezing out.
So here is the results.
Enjoy,
John
