We have some new Owlets in our favorite Owls Nest. I have been told that there are 3 but I’ve only seen 2. I have found that photographing them during the day is difficult because Mama Owl likes to sleep. Some friends have tried shooting them at sunset but the light is bad because they are on the East side of a mountain and there is too much shade at that time of day. . I’m going to try sunrise hoping that it might be the best time as they are still in the light and they should be awake.
I have acquired some new lighting equipment and have starting doing some portrait work. It has been a lot of fun, giving me a new learning experience. I’m always looking for models, giving them an opportunity to have some good photos of themselves and giving me some practice. I really believe everyone should have a good photo for themselves and their families. So if your in the Phoenix area give me a call.
With the new lighting comes new opportunities. I tried it on my local Hummingbirds and got some pretty nice results. I’m going to try some other new ideas in the future and will be posting the results.
